What we know about driving in Astore.
The turn off the KKH at Jaglot is the easy part. The valley road narrows and climbs, and after rain the side nullahs run over it, so we send a jeep rather than a car for anything past Astore town.
Rama is a short run but steep and rough. Deosai from this side opens later than people expect, usually late June, and closes with the first heavy snow in October.
