Terms and conditions

Effective 1 August 2026Governed by the laws of PakistanGilgit-Baltistan · Chitral

North Travena is a booking platform. We connect riders with independent, verified captains who own and drive their own vehicles. We do not own the vehicles and we do not employ the captains. These terms explain what we are responsible for, what the captain is responsible for, and what we expect from you.

01

Who we are and what we do

North Travena operates a booking platform for road travel in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral: private rides, shared seats on runs already going, and vehicles listed for daily hire with a driver.

We are a marketplace, not a transport company. Every trip is carried out by an independent captain using their own vehicle. The transport contract is between you and that captain; our role is to match you, hold the agreed fare, keep a record of the trip, and step in when something goes wrong.

02

Who may use the service

You must be 18 or older to book. Riders under 18 may travel when accompanied by a booking adult, and an adult must be present at pickup for any unaccompanied minor arrangement, which we accept only by prior arrangement through our office.

·One account per person, with a phone number that reaches you during the trip.

·A CNIC or passport number may be requested for intercity and high-pass trips.

·Accounts may not be shared, resold, or used to book on behalf of a business without a business agreement.

03

Bookings, offers and confirmation

When you request a ride, nearby captains send offers with a fare and an arrival time. An offer is a firm price for the route as requested and holds for two minutes. Accepting an offer forms the trip contract.

Shared seats are confirmed per seat on a departure posted by a captain. Vehicle hire is confirmed when the advance is received. Departure times for shared runs are indicative: mountain roads, weather and checkpoints move them.

04

Fares, extras and what is not included

The accepted fare covers the route you requested. It does not change because of traffic or a longer-than-expected drive on the same route.

·Waiting beyond 15 free minutes at pickup, added stops, or a changed destination are agreed with the captain before the change and added to the fare.

·Tolls, checkpoint charges, park entry fees (Deosai, Khunjerab, Naltar) and parking are paid by the rider unless the listing says otherwise.

·Vehicle hire rates are per calendar day with driver; fuel is not included and driver food and lodging on multi-day trips are the rider's responsibility.

·Fares may be higher during Eid, peak tourist season, and after road closures, and are always shown before you accept.

05

Payment

You may pay in cash, or by Easypaisa, JazzCash or bank transfer to the account shown in the app. Vehicle hire requires a 30% advance to confirm; the balance is due at handover.

Paying a captain outside the app for a trip booked on the platform removes our fare record and our ability to help with a dispute.

06

Cancellation and no-shows

Plans change, and so does the weather. These rules apply unless a road closure, landslide or a security or weather advisory is the cause, in which case cancellation is free on both sides.

·Private rides: free within 5 minutes of accepting, or before the captain starts moving toward you. After that a small cancellation fee applies.

·Shared seats: free up to 6 hours before departure; after that the seat is not refundable, as the run is priced on a full vehicle.

·Vehicle hire: the advance is refundable up to 48 hours before handover, and is retained after that.

·If the captain cancels or does not arrive, you pay nothing and we find you a replacement or refund in full.

·If you are not at the pickup point 15 minutes after arrival, the captain may treat it as a no-show.

07

What we expect from riders

Captains are people from these valleys driving their own vehicles. Treat the vehicle and the driver with respect.

·No smoking inside the vehicle, and no alcohol or illegal substances at any time.

·Seat belts where fitted; children must be held or seated safely by the accompanying adult.

·Do not ask a captain to overload the vehicle, exceed safe speed, or drive a closed or advisory-restricted road.

·Damage or serious soiling caused by a rider is chargeable at the repair or cleaning cost.

·Luggage is limited to what the vehicle safely carries; declare oversize loads when booking.

08

What we require from captains

Every captain is verified before their first trip: CNIC, a valid driving licence, vehicle registration, a physical vehicle inspection, and a reference from a captain or an office visit.

·Honour the accepted fare and the stated route; never renegotiate mid-trip.

·Keep the vehicle roadworthy: tyres, brakes, lights, and carry a spare and jack on intercity runs.

·Carry no unlisted passengers on a booked private ride, and keep shared runs to the seat count.

·Refuse a route in unsafe weather rather than attempt it; safety outranks a booking.

·Ratings below our threshold, or any verified safety incident, lead to suspension or permanent removal.

09

Safety, mountain roads and force majeure

The Karakoram Highway, the Deosai plains, Babusar and Khunjerab are high-altitude mountain routes. Landslides, snow, floods, road repair and checkpoint closures are ordinary events here, not exceptions.

Neither we nor the captain are liable for delay, missed flights, missed connections or cancelled onward plans caused by road conditions, weather, official closures, protests, or any other event beyond reasonable control. We will always help you re-plan, and cancellation fees are waived in those cases.

Share your trip with a family member from the app, check the captain's photo, name and vehicle number before boarding, and use the in-app emergency contact if anything feels wrong.

10

Our liability

We are responsible for operating the platform honestly: verifying captains as described, showing the fare you will pay, keeping trip records, and handling complaints. We are not the carrier and do not accept liability as one.

Where we are found liable to you, our total liability for any trip is limited to the fare paid for that trip, except where liability cannot be limited by Pakistani law. Insurance cover on the vehicle is the captain's responsibility, and cover levels vary by vehicle.

11

Lost property

Report anything left in a vehicle within 24 hours. We contact the captain and arrange return through our Gilgit office; a reasonable return-delivery cost may apply. We hold found items for 30 days.

12

Complaints and disputes

Raise a complaint in the app or by WhatsApp within 7 days of the trip. We respond within 48 hours and aim to resolve fare and conduct disputes within 7 working days.

If a complaint cannot be settled between us, it is subject to the laws of Pakistan and the courts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

13

Changes to these terms

We update these terms as the service grows. Material changes are announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, and continuing to book after that date means you accept the updated terms. This page always shows the effective date of the version in force.
